Glow Plug Relay: Installation

  1. Install the glow plug relay onto the bracket. Install the glow plug relay bolt and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect the glow plug electrical connectors to the glow plug relay. Install the battery supply cable and nut onto the glow plug relay and tighten to specification.
  2. Install the upper intake manifold cover. Install the upper intake manifold cover to the outlet duct. Tighten the outlet duct clamp at the upper intake manifold cover to specification. Connect the negative battery cables. Tighten battery cable bolts to specification.


  1. Install the glow plug relay. Slide the glow plug relay inward to engage it to the glow plug controller housing. Set the glow plug controller onto the studs. Install the glow plug controller retainer nuts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install the glow plug relay terminal wires and nuts. Tighten the nuts to specification. Install the glow plug controller cover.
  3. Install the upper intake manifold cover. Install the upper intake manifold cover to the outlet duct. Tighten the outlet duct clamp at the upper intake manifold cover to specification. Connect the negative battery cables. Tighten battery cable bolts to specification.
