Removal (VIN K)

  1. Remove fuel injector sight shield (upper engine cover) from engine. Drain the cooling system. Disconnect the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector. Remove the intake air duct from the throttle body. Disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve electrical connector. See Figure. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
  2. Disconnect the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor electrical connector. Remove the accelerator control cable from the throttle body lever. Remove the accelerator control cable from the accelerator controls bracket. Remove the cruise control cable from the accelerator controls bracket. Disconnect the electrical harness retainer clip from the accelerator controls cable bracket. Remove the vacuum hoses from the throttle body.
  3. Remove the throttle body support bracket bolts. Remove the throttle body support bracket. Remove the throttle body nuts. Remove the throttle body assembly.
  4. Clean the throttle body gasket mating surfaces. If throttle body is being replaced, remove the accelerator controls bracket from the throttle body.
