Tire Hop Or Poor Handling

  1. Did you review the General Description and perform the necessary inspections? See DESCRIPTION  and VISUAL/PHYSICAL INSPECTION  . Go to next step.
  2. Road test vehicle in order to verify if condition is present. Go to next step.
  3. Inspect the tires for uneven wear or damage. If tires are uneven or damaged, go to step  7 . If not, go to next step.
  4. Inspect the tires and wheels for missing wheel weights. If wheel weights are missing, go to step  8 . If not, go to next step.
  5. Inspect the tires and wheels for excessive runout. If not within specification, go to step  7 .
  6. Inspect the shock absorbers/struts for wear or damage. See STRUTS/SHOCK ABSORBER  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION. If not within specification, go to step  10 .
  7. Replace the tire/wheel if necessary. After completing repair, go to step  11 .
  8. Balance the tire and wheel assembly. After completing repair, go to step  11 .
  9. Balance the tire and wheel assembly.
  10. Replace the shock absorbers/struts. See STRUT ASSEMBLY  . Go to next step.
  11. Operate the system in order to verify the repair. If condition is not corrected, go to step  3 .
