Removal (4.8L, 5.3L & 6.0L)

  1. Clean area around Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor before removal to prevent debris from entering engine. CMP sensor is located at the top center rear of engine. See Fig 1.
  2. Disconnect CMP sensor harness connector. Remove CMP sensor retaining bolt. See Fig 2. Remove CMP sensor.
