Removal (4.3L)

- Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Remove upper intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD .
- Remove and discard the fuel meter body seal.
- Before removal, clean fuel meter body assembly with a spray type engine cleaner, such as GM X-30A. DO NOT use any solvent that contains Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK). Solvents containing MEK may damage fuel system components.
- Label fuel injector lines for installation reference. Remove injectors from lower intake manifold bores. Lightly pull on the injector tube and using a small pocket screwdriver, remove the injector from the manifold.
- Remove fuel meter body from bracket with injector lines and injectors attached. Disassemble as necessary.
NOTE:
Cover the injector sockets in order to prevent dirt and other contaminants from entering the open fuel passages.
