Removal & Installation

  1. Turn OFF the ignition. Remove outlet resonator/duct assembly. See AIR CLEANER OUTLET RESONATOR/DUCT ASSEMBLY  under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS. Remove Electronic Ignition (EI) module, if necessary. See ELECTRONIC IGNITION MODULE  . Remove ignition coil housing attachment bolts.
  2. Remove the ignition coil housing. See Fig 1 . To install, reverse removal procedure. Apply dialectic compound to the spark plug boots and ensure no corrosion is present. Tighten the coil housing bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Reset all preset radio stations and set clock to correct time.
