Clutch Pedal Hard To Push: Notes

  1. Did you review the clutch symptom operations and perform the necessary inspections? If yes, go to next step. If no, see DIAGNOSTIC STARTING POINT  .
  2. Inspect the clutch hydraulic hose and pipe for blockage or crimping. Is the hydraulic hose and pipe blocked or crimped? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step  4 .
  3. Replace the clutch hydraulic hose and pipe in the master cylinder assembly. Is the clutch pedal hard? If yes, go to next step. If no, system is okay.
  4. Inspect the clutch master cylinder for binding. Is the clutch master cylinder binding? If yes, go to next step. If no, system is okay.
  5. Replace the master cylinder. See CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER & RESERVOIR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, system is okay. If no, go to next step.
  6. Remove the transmission. See TRANSMISSION  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Inspect the concentric slave cylinder for sticking and being seized. Is the concentric slave cylinder binding? If yes, go to next step. If no, system is okay.
  7. Replace the concentric slave cylinder or release bearing. See CONCENTRIC SLAVE (ACTUATOR) CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, go to step  10 .
  8. Inspect the pressure plate for being faulty. Is the pressure plate worn? If yes, go to next step. If no, system is okay.
  9. Replace the disc plate. See CLUTCH ASSEMBLY & PILOT BEARING  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, go to next step. If no, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  .
  10. Install the transmission. See TRANSMISSION  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
