Shock Absorber (Sierra & SILVERADO): Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Support rear axle.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector if equipped with Selectable Ride.
  4. Remove the upper shock absorber nut and bolt. See Fig 1 .
  5. Remove the lower shock absorber nut and bolt.
  6. Remove the shock absorber. To dispose of shock absorber, see SHOCK ABSORBER DISPOSAL  .
