Intake Manifold: Installation

CAUTION:
Intake manifold "O" ring seals are re-usable if not damaged. If "O" ring seals re being replaced, remove seals from both sides.
- Transfer all components to NEW intake manifold, if necessary. Ensure all mating surfaces are clean. Install NEW "O" ring seals, if necessary, on bottom side of lower intake manifold spacer plate. See Fig 1. Install lower intake manifold spacer plate onto cylinder heads. Install lower intake manifold spacer plate bolts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Ensure all mating surfaces are clean. Install NEW "O" ring seals, if necessary, on upper intake manifold. Install upper intake manifold onto lower intake manifold spacer plate. Install bolts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install throttle body. Install throttle body bolts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Ensure all electrical connections are clean and tight. Ensure all fluid and hose connections are tight.NOTE: The vehicle must be level when filling with coolant.
- Fill the cooling system to the FULL COLD line with coolant. Use a 50/50 mixture of DEX-COOL antifreeze and clean water. Bleed cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING . Check for coolant leaks.
