Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

NOTE: Apply sealant GM P/N 12345739 (Canadian P/N 10953472) or equivalent at the cylinder head to lower intake manifold joint.

Apply sealant at the cylinder head to lower intake manifold joint at the rear of the lower intake manifold (1).

Apply sealant at the cylinder head to lower intake manifold joint at the front of the lower intake manifold (1).
Install a new left valve rocker arm cover gasket.

Install the left valve rocker arm cover. Install the left valve rocker arm cover bolts.
Tighten:

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 in lbs)

Install the PCV valve to the left valve rocker arm cover.
Install the thermostat bypass pipe. Refer to THERMOSTAT BYPASS PIPES REPLACEMENT in ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM .
Install the left spark plug wires. Refer to SPARK PLUG WIRE REPLACEMENT in ENGINE CONTROLS - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION, OVERHAUL .
Fill the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM in ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM .
Inspect the cooling system for leaks.
