Removal & Installation (Vent Door)

- Remove the vacuum reservoir tank. See VACUUM RESERVOIR TANK . Remove the floor carpet as necessary. Remove the rear floor air outlet duct from the holes in the floor reinforcement. See Fig 1.
- Disconnect the rear floor air outlet duct from the heater core outlet cover. Remove the bolts from the vacuum harness bracket and position bracket aside. Remove the heater outlet cover screws. Remove the heater outlet cover.
- Disconnect the defroster/vent door link at the vent door on the left side of the HVAC module assembly. See Fig 2. Remove the heater core cover screws. Remove the heater core cover. Remove the vent door from the HVAC module assembly. See Fig 3.
- To assemble, install the vent door to the HVAC module assembly. Install the heater core cover. Install the heater core cover screws. Tighten the cover screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the heater core outlet cover.
- Install the screws to the heater core outlet cover. Tighten the screws to specification. Install the HVAC vacuum harness bracket. Install the screws to the HVAC vacuum harness bracket. Tighten the screws to specification.
- Connect the defroster/vent door link at the vent door on the left side of the HVAC module assembly. Connect the rear floor air outlet duct to the heater core outlet cover. Install the rear floor air outlet duct to the holes in the floor reinforcement. Install the floor carpet. Install the vacuum reservoir tank. See VACUUM RESERVOIR TANK .
