Diagnostic Procedures

  1. Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Engine Controls? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK - ENGINE CONTROLS .
    2. NOTE: This code may be set due to a slow or unresponsive HO2S 1 or HO2S 2.
  2. Operate engine at 2000 RPM for at least one minute, then allow engine to idle. Vary engine speed from idle to 3000 RPM several times within 5 seconds. Observe the HO2S 1 voltage parameter on scan tool. Does the HO2S 1 voltage fluctuate less than 400 mV and more than 597 mV? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step 4)  in DTC P0134 OR P0154: HO2S CIRCUIT - INSUFFICIENT ACTIVITY .
    3. NOTE: This code may be set due to a slow or unresponsive HO2S 1 or HO2S 2.
  3. Vary the engine speed from idle to 3000 RPM several times within 5 seconds. Observe the HO2S 2 voltage parameter with a scan tool. Does the HO2S 2 voltage fluctuate less than 400 mV and more than 520 mV, and by more than 100 mV? If yes, DIAGNOSTIC AIDS . If no, go to step 4)  in DTC P0140 OR P0160: HO2S CIRCUIT - INSUFFICIENT ACTIVITY .
