Circuit Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, 2002 Chevrolet Impala, 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, and 2001 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Door lock cylinder switches provide a direct ground input to Body Control Module (BCM) when one of the switches is activated. This input allows BCM to detect when door lock cylinder switches are turned to UNLOCK position. When BCM detects that a door lock cylinder switch is in UNLOCK position for greater than one second, it will perform an output command to unlock all doors. This input is also needed for optional Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) system when keyless entry feature does not unlock doors.
