Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Safari, 2002 Chevrolet Astro, 2001 GMC Safari, and 2001 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the bucket seat from the vehicle. Refer to Seat Replacement - Bucket .
  2. Remove the armrests. Refer to Armrest Replacement (YC7)  or Armrest Replacement (YC6)  .
  3. Disconnect the J-hook fasteners at the bottom corners of the seat back.
  4. Remove the seat back cover and pad from the seat back frame. See Fig 1.

    NOTE: Note the locations of the hog rings. This will assist with reassembly.
  5. Remove the hog rings that retain the seat back cover to the pad. See Figure.
  6. Remove the seat back cover from the pad.
