Shift Cable Bracket: Removal

  1. Apply the Parking brake.
  2. Place the transmission into Neutral.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle.
  4. Remove the retainer that secures the cable to the bracket. See Fig 1 .
  5. Depress the tangs and remove the cable from the bracket.
  6. Remove the bolts (1) securing the transmission range selector cable bracket (2) to the transmission. See Fig 2 .
  7. Remove the transmission range selector cable bracket.
