Accumulator & 2-1 Manual Servo: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the oil pan. Remove the filter. See DRAINING & REFILLING  under LUBRICATION.
  2. Remove the accumulator bolts. Remove the manual 2-1 band servo cover bolts. See Fig 1 .
  3. Use a large flat-blade tool in order to gently pry the lube oil pipe retainer from the case. See Fig 2 . Remove the lube oil pipe from the front differential carrier internal gear lube hole. See Fig 3 .
  4. Remove the accumulator. Remove the manual 2-1 band servo cover. Remove the manual 2-1 band servo. Remove the manual 2-1 band servo cover gasket. See Fig 4 .
  5. To disassemble, inspect and service the accumulator and 2-1 manual servo, see appropriate OVERHAUL article.
