Installation (1500 Series With 4-Wheel Steering)

  1. Install the park brake actuator lever housing to the backing plate.
  2. Install the park brake shoe.
  3. Install the wheel bearing. See REAR WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in the 9.75" RING GEAR - QUADRASTEER article in DRIVELINE/AXLES.
  4. Adjust the park brake shoe. See PARK BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION.
  5. Install the park brake cable to the park brake actuator lever. See Figure.
  6. Install the rear park brake bracket bolt. See Figure. Tighten the bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Install the park brake cable to the equalizer bar. See Figure.
  8. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  9. Lower the vehicle.
