Removal (2.2L)

  1. Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor is located on side of block, behind starter. See Fig 1 . Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the starter.
  4. Remove the starter bolts. Remove the starter. See Fig 2 .
  5. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor harness connector.
  6. Remove the CKP sensor bolt. Remove the CKP sensor.
