Removal (3.4L)

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect the accelerator and cruise control cables from the throttle body lever. See Figure .
  2. Depress the tangs and remove the accelerator and cruise control cables from the accelerator cable bracket.
  3. If applicable disconnect the cruise control cable from the throttle lever and accelerator bracket. See Figure .
  4. Remove the nuts and bolts holding the accelerator cable bracket to the throttle body.
  5. Remove the accelerator cable bracket. See Figure .
  6. Disconnect the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge valve harness connector.
  7. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve pipe and the vacuum supply hose. See Figure .
  8. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve retaining bolt. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve. See Figure .
  9. Disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve harness connector. See Fig 1
  10. Remove the IAC attaching screws and IAC valve. See Fig 2 .
  11. Remove the IAC valve "O" ring.
