Ignition Coil Housing (2.2L): Removal

NOTE: Numbers in parenthesis correspond to numbered components in referenced illustrations.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator, air cleaner intake duct and vent hose.
  2. Disconnect the cruise control cable (2) from the throttle body (3) and the accelerator bracket (1). See Figure .
  3. Disconnect the cruise control cable (2) from the throttle body (3) and the accelerator bracket (1). See Figure .
  4. Remove the 2 accelerator bracket nuts (3). See Figure .
  5. Remove the accelerator bracket (2) from the throttle body (1). See Figure .
  6. Disconnect Ignition Control Module (ICM) harness connector. See Fig 1 .
  7. Remove ICM retaining screws. Remove ICM from ignition coil housing. See Figure .
  8. Remove ignition coil housing retaining bolts. Remove ignition coil housing from camshaft cover.
