Low Pressure Lock-Off Solenoid: Installation

  1. While holding the union with a wrench, rotate the LPL as necessary to attach the components. Tighten the LPL 1-3 turns from hand tight as necessary to properly align and seal the LPL and LPR to the union.
  2. Loosely install the LPR mounting bolts through the mounting bracket and into the LPR.
  3. Loosely install the LPL mounting bolts through the mounting bracket and into the LPR. Tighten the mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Place the LPR/LPL mounting bracket onto the transmission housing studs. See Fig 1.
  5. Install the LPR/LPL mounting nuts onto the mounting studs. Tighten the nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Install the fuel feed hose at the regulator using a NEW "O" ring. Lubricate the "O" ring with petroleum jelly, or equivalent. See Figure.
  7. Install the fuel hose retainer and the hold-down nut. Tighten the nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. Install the fuel line to the LPL fuel inlet elbow using a NEW "O" ring face seal. Lubricate the "O" ring face seal with petroleum jelly, or equivalent. Tighten the fuel line fitting to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  9. Connect the LPL harness connector.
  10. Install the battery, air cleaner outlet duct and the air cleaner assembly.
  11. Start the engine. Check for CNG fuel leaks at each serviced fitting using the Combustible Gas Detector (J 45878).
