Park Brake Pedal Assembly: Installation

  1. Install the park brake pedal assembly.
  2. Connect the park brake cable to the park brake pedal assembly and install the retaining clip. See Figure .
  3. Install the 3 park brake pedal assembly retaining nuts. Tighten the nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Connect the electrical connector to the park brake switch.
  5. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
  6. Connect the front cable to the rear cable at the connector clip. See Figure .
  7. Adjust the park brake system. See PARK BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS.
  8. Lower the vehicle. Position the carpet in place.
  9. Install the left and/or right front lower pillar, trim panel. Apply pressure until the panel is fully seated. Install the left and/or right front door carpet retainer. Apply pressure until the carpet retainer is fully seated.
  10. Install the left side instrument panel insulator.
