Removal & Installation: Accumulator: Installation

  1. Remove the caps or remove tape from the A/C fittings. If replacing the accumulator, add the PAG oil to the accumulator. See SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install the accumulator to the mounting bracket. Install the accumulator and mounting bracket to the module. Install the accumulator mounting bracket bolt. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install NEW O-ring seals on hose and evaporator fittings. Install the compressor suction hose to the accumulator. Tighten the compressor suction hose nut. Tighten to specification. Install the evaporator tube to the accumulator. Tighten the evaporator fitting nut at the accumulator. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install the low pressure switch. Tighten to specification. Connect the low pressure switch electrical connector. Evacuate and charge the system. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Leak test the fitting(s) of the repaired or reinstalled component. See LEAK TESTING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING.
