Possible Cause & Correction

Check the following items:
- Verify if check valve is stuck closed.
- Check if fill limiter vent valve is stuck closed.
- Check if Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister is restricted.
- EVAP if canister vent solenoid is stuck closed.
- Check for restricted EVAP pipes.
- Check for high Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP).
- High fuel temperature.
- Check if fuel filler hose/pipe is pinched, kinked or blocked.
- Check if fuel feed hose or crossover hose, is pinched, kinked or blocked.
- The ignition switch is on.
Check the following items:
- Check if pressure relief valve in the fill limiter vent valve is stuck open.
- Pressure relief valve in the fill limiter vent valve is leaking.
- Fill limiter vent valve is stuck open.
- Fill limiter vent valve is leaking.
Check the following items:
- Fill limiter vent valve stuck closed.
- EVAP canister restricted.
- EVAP vent valve stuck closed.
- Restricted vapor lines.
- High Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) or high fuel temperature.
- High fuel temperatures.
Check the following items:
- Check valve is stuck open.
- Check valve is stuck closed.
- Check valve is leaking.
- Fuel with high Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) characteristics.
- High fuel temperatures.
Check the following items:
- Fill limiter vent valve stuck open or leaking.
- Overfilled fuel tank (topping off fuel tank).
Check the following items:
- Pressure relief valve in fill limiter vent valve is stuck open or leaking.
- A torn fuel filler hose or a loose fuel filler hose.
- The fill limiter vent valve is stuck open.
Check the following items:
- Pressure relief valve is stuck open or leaking.
- Saturated EVAP canister.
- Seepage from fuel tank.
