Action Taken When DTC Sets

PCM illuminates Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) on the second consecutive ignition cycle that the diagnostic runs and fails.

PCM records the operating conditions at the time diagnostic fails. The first time diagnostic fails, PCM stores this information in failure records. If diagnostic reports a failure on the second consecutive ignition cycle, PCM records operating conditions at the time of the failure. PCM writes operating conditions to freeze frame and updates failure records.
