Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) system, also known as Tire Inflation Monitor (TIM) system uses Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM), wheel speed sensors, Class 2 serial data messages and instrument cluster in order to perform system functions. EBCM contains software to perform system monitoring functions and uses wheel speed data obtained from wheel speed sensors to detect relative pressure differences. Any ABS/TCS system activity causes EBCM to temporarily suspend TIM system functions.

One of the following conditions must occur:

The Instrument Panel Cluster/Driver Information Center (IPC/DIC) displays tire pressure indicator warning message. To clear DTC, condition for DTC must no longer be present (DTC is not current), TIM reset function has been performed and/or scan tool has been used to clear DTC. EBCM automatically clears history DTC when a malfunction is not detected in 100 consecutive drive cycles.
