Circuit/System Testing (Non-Hybrid)
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the AT harness connector at the transmission.
- Install the J 44152 on the engine side of the AT inline 20-way connector.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 10 ohm between the low reference circuit terminal M and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the TCM.
- Ignition ON, verify the scan tool Trans. Fluid Temp. parameter is at -40°C (-40°F).
- If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal L for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the TCM.
- Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal L and the low reference circuit terminal M. Verify the scan tool Trans. Fluid Temp. parameter is greater than 100°C (212°F).
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the TCM.
- If all circuits test normal, test the internal transmission harness and the TFT sensor.
IMPORTANT:
Additional DTCs may set when disconnecting the automatic transmission (AT) inline 20-way connector.
