Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, open the hood to disable the Auto-Stop function.
- Ignition ON, verify the scan tool hood position parameter displays Open.
- If the hood position does not display Open, refer to DTC P254F .
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector X1 at the ECM.
- Probe the FRP regulator ignition voltage circuit terminal X1-5 at the ECM harness connector with a test lamp connected to B+. Verify the test lamp does not illuminate.
- If the test lamp illuminates, test the ignition voltage circuit, and control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuits test normal, replace the high pressure fuel pump.
- Test for less than 2 Ω between the FRP regulator ignition voltage circuit terminal X1-5, and the FRP regulator control circuit terminal X1-73 at the ECM harness connector.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ignition voltage circuit, and control circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the high pressure fuel pump.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1 V between the FRP regulator ignition voltage circuit terminal X1-5 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ignition voltage circuit, and control circuit for a short to voltage.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the ECM.
