DTC B008A 11, B008A 12, B008A 39, or B008A 73

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the HVCID sensor.
  2. Ignition OFF and scan tool disconnected, open and close the driver door, and wait 1 minute. Test for less than 5 Ω between the low reference circuit terminal 2 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the SDGM.
  3. Ignition ON, verify DTC P008A 39 is set.
    • The DTC is not set, test the signal circuit terminal 1 for a short to voltage or a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the SDGM.
  4. Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal 1 and the low reference circuit terminal 2. Verify DTC P008A 12 is set.
    • The DTC is not set, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the SDGM.
  5. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the HVCID sensor.
