Removal Procedure

  1. Place the park brake lever in the released position.
  2. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  3. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .

  5. Disconnect the park brake warning lamp switch electrical connector (1).

  7. Using ONLY hand tools, loosen the park brake cable adjustment nut (1).

  9. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  10. Release the left rear park brake cable (1) and the right rear park brake cable (2) from the equalizer.
  11. Lower the vehicle.

  13. Remove the 2 front park brake cable guide nuts (1).

  15. Remove the 4 park brake lever assembly nuts (1).
  16. Remove the park brake lever assembly from the vehicle while guiding the front park brake cable and equalizer through the floor panel.
