Installation Procedure

    WARNING: To avoid personal injury, only remove the tensioner shipping clip when the tensioner is properly mounted to the engine and the accessory drive belt is in place and properly routed.
  1. Position the drive belt tensioner (1).
  2. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Install the drive belt tensioner bolts (2).
    • Tighten the top bolt to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
    • Tighten the lower bolt to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).

  5. Position the generator starter to the vehicle and install the bolts.
  6. Tighten the generator starter bolts in the following sequence.
    1. Front
    2. Bottom

      Tighten the bolts to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).

  7. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (LE5)  or Drive Belt Replacement (LAT) .
  8. Using a 6 point socket on the hex boss on the drive belt tensioner, release the tension and remove the shipping clip by hand. Discard the clip.
