Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (LAT) .
  2. Remove the engine splash shield.
  3. Install the J 38122-A  (1), and a breaker bar to the balancer in order to prevent the balancer from rotating when loosening the balancer bolt. See Special Tools .
  4. Remove the J 38122-A  (1) and breaker bar. See Special Tools .

  5. Remove and discard the crankshaft balancer bolt.
  6. Remove the crankshaft balancer.
