Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect harness connector at the appropriate passenger door latch.
- Test for less than 10 ohms between the ground circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- Passenger door latch terminal 3
- Right rear door latch terminal 3
- Left rear door latch terminal 6
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, verify the Door Ajar indicator is not illuminated.
- If the indicator is illuminated, test the signal circuit terminal listed below for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- Passenger door latch signal circuit terminal 1
- Right rear door latch signal circuit terminal 1
- Left rear door latch signal circuit terminal 4
- If the indicator is illuminated, test the signal circuit terminal listed below for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal listed below and ground. Verify that the Door Ajar indicator is illuminated.
- Passenger door latch signal circuit terminal 1
- Right rear door latch signal circuit terminal 1
- Left rear door latch signal circuit terminal 4
- If the indicator is not illuminated, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- If all circuit tests normal, test or replace the passenger door latch.
