Transmission Rear Mount Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . Support the transmission with a transmission jack stand. Disconnect the steering shaft coupler from the steering gear. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement (HP5) or Steering Gear Replacement (NJ1 or HP7) or Steering Gear Replacement (NVH) . Remove the steering gear to frame bolts. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement (HP5) or Steering Gear Replacement (NJ1 or HP7) or Steering Gear Replacement (NVH) . Position the steering gear up out of the way to gain clearance for removal of the rear transmission mount.
1	Rear Transmission Mount Thru Bolt CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten: 110 N.m (81 lb ft)
2	Rear Transmission Mount Bolt (Qty: 3) Tighten: 50 N.m (37 lb ft)
