DTC U1000 & U1255: Class 2 Communication Malfunction: Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 GMC Safari and 2001 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

During normal vehicle operation, each module communicating on class 2 serial data line sends a State Of Health (SOH) message every 2 seconds to ensure system is operating properly. DTC U1000 and U1255 will set when, voltage supplied to module is in normal operating voltage range of 9-16 volts. DTCs U1300, U1301 or U1305 do not have a current status. Vehicle power mode requires serial data communication to occur.
