Circuit Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The automatic transmission output shaft speed (AT OSS) sensor is attached externally to the transmission case. The OSS utilizes the gear teeth, located on the output shaft, to generate a voltage signal of a different frequency, corresponding to the rotation speed. This signal is sent to the PCM and is used in the measurement of AT OSS signal.
If the PCM detects fluctuation in the AT OSS signal, DTC P0503 sets. DTC P0503 is a type B DTC.
