Low Oil Pressure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The instrument panel cluster (IPC) illuminates the engine oil pressure indicator when the engine control module (ECM) detects low engine oil pressure, and the signal circuit is low. The ECM sends a controlled area network (CAN) serial data message to the body control module (BCM) indicating low engine oil pressure. The BCM sends a class 2 message to the IPC requesting illumination when the engine oil pressure is low.
