J 25070  Heat Gun, or equivalent

  1. Remove the piston rings (122) from the piston.

  3. Apply clean engine oil to the piston pin retaining clips (121).
  4. Rotate the clips and position the clip end gap to the cutout area of the piston pin bore (1).

  6. Remove the clips (121). Start in the cutout area of the piston pin bore.

  8. Use the J 25070  , or equivalent, to heat the piston and connecting rod assembly to approximately 70°C (158°F).

  10. Remove the pin (119) from the piston (120) and connecting rod (118).
