Installation Procedure

  1. If a new frame is required, transfer the seat back panel, the recliner cable, and the pad to the new seat back frame. Transfer the child top tether anchor. Refer to Child Restraint Tether Anchor Replacement (Early Production) .
  2. Route the shoulder belt and the escutcheon through the rear seat back cover. Install the cover over the top of the seat back.
  3. Slide the inboard bezel tabs onto the seat. Press the outboard side until the bezel snaps into place.
  4. Route the recliner cable between the back panel and the pad.

  6. Install the headrest guides by pushing down until the locking tabs engage.

  8. Connect the recliner handle to the recliner cable.
  9. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  10. Install the recliner handle screw.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

  11. Continue to install the seat back trim cover. Engage the hook and loop locations by pressing firmly.
  12. Install the seat back assembly to the recliner assembly and secure with the bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  14. Connect the rear seat back J-hook retainers.

  16. Install the rear seat back assembly to the rear seat cushion frame at the outer location.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 44 N.m (33 lb ft).

  18. Install the recliner handle cable to the recliner clip and release the mechanism.

  20. Install the child tether anchor escutcheon.
  21. Install the headrest. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement .

  23. Route the shoulder belt through the seat cushion and install with the fastener.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fastener to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  25. Install the child comfort guide.
  26. Install the rear seat to the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .
