Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Set parking brake. On models with air conditioning, set air flow control to vent position. On models with automatic transmission, move shift lever to down-most position. On all models, tilt steering wheel to full down position.
  2. Remove Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) trim bezel. Remove left and right instrument panel end panels. Remove passenger-side air outlets. Remove assist handle by depressing release tabs accessed through air outlet duct holes.
  3. Remove driver-side and passenger-side A-pillar trim. Remove screws from instrument panel upper trim pad. Lift upper trim pad up. Disconnect ambient light sensor electrical connector. Remove upper trim pad.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten upper trim pad screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
