Diagnostic Procedure

  1. If SIR diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If SIR diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), located under left side of instrument panel. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, request SIR DTC display. If DTC B1000 is retrieved as a current DTC, go to next step. If DTC B1000 is retrieved as a history DTC, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
  3. Replace SDM. See SENSING & DIAGNOSTIC MODULE (SDM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Reconnect all SIR components. Go to next step.
  4. Using scan tool, erase DTC's. Road test vehicle, then, check for DTC's. IF DTC B1000 is retrieved by scan tool, go to step  2. If DTC B1000 is not retrieved, system is normal. Go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
