Removal & Installation (Monte Carlo-Driver-side)

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
- Tilt steering wheel to lowest position. Turn steering wheel until one of 3 holes located on back side of steering wheel is straight above steering column. Insert a small, flat bladed screwdriver into hole and twist to remove spring loaded fastener. Repeat procedure for remaining spring loaded fasteners. Pull driver-side air bag module away from steering wheel.
- Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clips and remove air bag module connectors. See Figure. Push and rotate horn contact lead 1/4 turn clockwise and remove. Remove air bag module.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure wires are not pinched during assembly. Activate air bag system.
