Liftgate Adjustment

  1. Note the original position of the liftgate latch striker.
  2. Remove the striker.
  3. Loosen the hinge-to-roof panel bolts for forward or rearward adjustments.
  4. Loosen the liftgate-to-hinge bolts for up and down adjustment.
  5. Move the liftgate within the liftgate opening to achieve the best alignment and operation.
  6. Install striker to approximately the proper position.
  7. Adjust the striker to achieve the best operation and alignment of the liftgate.
  8. Inspect the seals for proper engagement.
  9. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  10. Tighten the bolts when the proper adjustment is achieved.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
