Installation Procedure

Install the control assembly.

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.

Install the control assembly bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the control assembly to bracket bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

Connect the control assembly electrical connectors.

Install the indicator bulb by inserting and rotating one-quarter turn.

Install the park lock cable onto the control assembly using a new clip.
Connect the park lock cable onto the control assembly pin.

IMPORTANT: The secondary clip is not required for service. Make sure the shiftier cable is fully engaged into the shiftier control.

Install the shiftier cable onto the control assembly. Secure with a new shiftier cable retainer clip.
Connect the shiftier cable onto the control assembly pin.
Install the console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
Enable SIR system. Refer to ACTIVATING SYSTEM in SIR.
