Installation Procedure

  1. Using the Differential Output Shaft Oil Seal Installer J 45187  , install the right drive axle seal onto the torque converter housing assembly. See Special Tools .

  2. Install the PTU onto the transaxle.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the PTU bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the PTU retaining bolts to 60 N.m (44 lb ft).

  4. Install the front wheel drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Front in Drive Line Axle.
