Removal & Installation (Passenger-side)

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
- Remove passenger-side sound insulator panel. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip from passenger-side air bag module Yellow connector and disconnect connector. See Figure. Remove instrument panel upper trim pad. See INSTRUMENT PANEL UPPER TRIM PAD . Remove passenger-side air bag module mounting bolts. See Figure. Remove passenger-side air bag module.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten air bag module mounting bolts and instrument panel upper trim pad screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
WARNING:
Accidental deployment of side impact air bag is possible. Personal injury may result. DO NOT remove center fastener from side impact air bag module. Removing center fastener may cause side impact air bag module to deploy.
