Removal & Installation (Side Impact AIR Bag)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove applicable front seat from vehicle. Remove seat back cover. Remove side impact air bag module mounting bolts. See Fig 1. Remove air bag module retainer. Remove wire harness clips from seat frame. Make note of wire harness positioning in seat frame for use during installation. Remove wire harness from seat frame. Remove side impact air bag module.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure that wire harness is installed in same position as it was removed from to prevent damage to wires. Tighten side impact air bag module mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
