Disabling System

NOTE:
When SIR fuse is removed and ignition switch is in RUN position, AIR BAG warning light will be on. This does not indicate a system malfunction.
- Turn steering wheel to place vehicle front wheels in straight-ahead position. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position and remove key.
- Remove AIR BAG fuse (10-amp) from instrument panel fuse block, located behind left side of instrument panel. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip and disconnect driver-side air bag module Yellow 2-pin connector, located at base of steering column. See Fig 1. Remove driver-side knee bolster. Remove CPA clip and disconnect passenger-side air bag module Yellow 2-pin connector. See Fig 2.
