Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE in Battery.
  2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to FUEL INJECTOR SIGHT SHIELD REPLACEMENT (L36)  or FUEL INJECTOR SIGHT SHIELD REPLACEMENT (L67)  .
  3. Remove the right engine mount strut from the upper engine mount strut bracket. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT STRUT REPLACEMENT - RIGHT  .

  4. Remove the lower engine mount strut bracket nut.

  5. Remove the lower engine mount strut bracket bolts and the bracket.
  6. Remove the EVAP emissions canister purge valve. Refer to EVAP CANISTER PURGE VALVE in Removal & Installation.
    CAUTION: Refer to RELIEVING FUEL PRESSURE CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
  7. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE in Removal & Installation.
  8. Remove the fuel rail assembly. Refer to FUEL RAIL & INJECTORS in Removal & Installation.
  9. Remove the upper engine mount strut bracket bolts.
  10. Remove the upper engine mount strut bracket.
