Removal & Installation (4.3L, 5.0L & 5.7L)

Raise the vehicle. If the vehicle is equipped with the underbody shield package, remove the mounting bolts for the steering linkage shield. Remove the steering linkage shield. Disconnect the CKP sensor harness connector. Remove the CKP sensor mounting bolt. Remove the CKP sensor. See Fig 1 and Figure . Do not use the original "O" ring. Lubricate the NEW "O" ring with clean engine oil before installing the CKP sensor. Ensure the CKP sensor mounting surface is clean and free of burrs. To install, reverse removal procedure.
